Part of BBC Four's partnership with the Open University, this first film featured acclaimed novelist Joanna Trollope travelling to the village of Slad in the Cotswolds to learn about the life of author Laurie Lee. His novel Cider with Rosie entranced generations of young school children; Trollope revisits the house he grew up in and the school he attended, before paying a graveside visit to the book's most memorable presence.
